Candidates must have reliable transportation, be willing to rotate opening and closing shifts and some weekend availability.

Animal Care and Treatment Duties Assists with animal handling and Fear Free restraint Walks dogs, cleans litter boxes, and replenishes food and water as needed Obtains fecal and urine samples and assists with running in-house laboratory tests Assists with toe nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expressions, bathing and brushing Helps clean surgical equipment in preparation for sterilization Checks in orders and helps maintain supply order book Fills prescriptions under the direction of a veterinary nurse Restocks retail goods and medical supplies and refills liquids throughout the clinic Assists veterinarians with radiographs Performs other duties as needed Cleaning Duties Performs daily sweeping, mopping, laundry, and garbage removal Follows daily, weekly and monthly task lists Cleans sinks, counters, and exam rooms Cleans surgery and prep areas as needed Cleans cages and kennels, adhering to disease control and patient isolation protocols Performs overall maintenance of the sights and smells of the hospital Services the Mill Creek pet waste stations weekly Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen; may be required to walk or stand for long periods of time; will use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms.
The employee is often required to help lift and carry animals or materials weighing fifty pounds or more; handle dogs weighing up to 150 lbs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to hazards associated with aggressive patients; hazards associated with infected animals and controlled substances; exposure to unpleasant odors and noises; exposure to bites, scratches and animal wastes; possible exposure to contagious diseases.
