Purchasing Leader, Indirect Materials

Purchasing Leader, Indirect Materials Kelly Services is currently seeking a Purchasing Leader for one of our top clients in Mebane, NC.
As the Purchasing Leader you will be responsible to lead the process and team in implementing comprehensive commodity strategies to ensure a consistent and sustainable supply of indirect materials and CAPEX with the most competitive prices and quality to support the operation.
The successful candidate will build and maintain a strong focus on continuous improvement framed within the Company processes and ways of working.
Key
Responsibilities:
o Lead, mentor, train and develop a team of Indirect Material Buyers to achieve increased levels of performance in a manner consistent with the needs of the business and the overall business strategy.
o In collaboration with others, negotiate the CAPEX purchases of machinery, tooling, installation, transport, implementation and technical service according to the Operational & ME strategy.
o Coordinate the purchase of machinery strategies with the local business units, suppliers and regional leadership support.
o Ensure the contractual documentation involved in all the CAPEX purchases adhere to COMPANY purchasing a related policies.
o Lead the team to support the refurbishment projects across the operation to meet agreed upon timings and Delivery of Services and Spare Parts.
o Influence and ensure transparency during the definition of the supplier panel for machinery refurbishment with maintenance teams and manufacturing engineering teams to meet the required budget target.
o Lead the development and implementation of IDM strategies with the buyers that meet the operational requirements for the actual and future projects.
o Deploy and align the Indirect Material Buyers with the appropriate strategies according to the global corporate commodities strategies.
o Supervise the fulfillment of the policies, procedures, corporate and legal guidelines of the indirect purchases in alignment with internal corporate audit guidelines and processes.
o Lead and maintain the administration of MFG, iDash, and purchasing procedures to ensure the accomplishment of the team framework.
o Support and improve the internal demand by finding innovative solutions and building effective and collaborative ways of working with operational and manufacturing engineers.
o Manage the catalog of suppliers for its login/logoff and maintenance of information.
o Expertly maintain the established evaluations needed for price changes according to the budget expectations.
o Prepare operational and spending budgets for future years and ensure the task achievement.
o Develop and review periodically meaningful indicators of measurement and the impact of the same ones to take appropriate action and to achieve the established targets.
o Develop national and regional suppliers to improve their performance.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills o Bachelor degree in supply chain, engineering, business or other related field.
o Proven ability to lead a team to achieve increasing higher levels of results.
o At least 5 years of successful purchasing leadership experience and CAPEX purchasing experience.
o Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
o Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priories.
o Strong negotiation and influence skills in a manner that builds relationships and protects company interests.
o Preference for commodities purchasing experience, preferably in metals and plastics o Demonstration of a general knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery used in manufacturing environments (i.
e.
forges, proses, lathes, grinders).
o Proven ability to understand and interpret legal, environmental, and fiscal requirements and apply those across multiple situations.
o Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO, TS16949, etc.
o Proven ability to understand market conditions and use that information to deliver improved results.
o Preference for at least 3 years' experience working for a Tier 1 automotive supplier or OEM.
o Preference for experience in manufacturing engineering or supplier quality engineering.
