Summary:
Performs a variety of functions related to the registration / admissions and discharge of patients and subsequent financial activities.
II.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
A.
Responsible to:
Patient Access Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor and Patient Access ManagerB.
Assignment received from:
Patient Access Supervisor and Patient Access ManagerC.
Nature of supervision received:
Direct supervision and/or Workflow Supervision received from Patient Access Supervisor/Assistant SupervisorD.
Position supervised and nature of supervision:
NoneE.
Interaction with:
patients, physicians, hospital personnel, insurance companies and general publicIII.
Qualifications:
A.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
B.
Work
Experience:
At least 5 or more years medical or clerical office experience preferred.
Knowledge of Healthcare and Insurance to include Commercial, Managed Care and Government Plans is a plus.
C.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
CONSIDERABLE KNOWLEDGE of typing skills, previous training in a medical setting, medical terminology, and typing 45 wpm using computers Windows environment.
CONSIDERABLE ABILITY to communicate effectively with physicians, employees, patients, and public in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
It is essential that Good Guest Relations be reflected based on the philosophy of Cone Health Systems.

Special Conditions:
Position involves working holidays, different shifts, rotating weekends, near infectious diseases, and in stressful situations.
